Happy New Year!
Book releases, print literary journal submissions, and more goodness in store for 2025
Hello, dear CPP community,
We hope you had a restful Advent season and are looking forward to all 2025 has in store. We’re beyond grateful for each of you and all the ways you make this work worthwhile. It’s a gift to partner with you in bringing good, God-glorifying works into the world, whether that’s through books, articles, poetry, or beyond. We’re ready and excited for another year of writerly blessings!
Book submissions and online journal submissions are officially closed! Thank you to everyone who shared their words with us. You’ll hear from us soon about our decisions if you haven’t already.
Our print spring literary journal submissions are now open! The theme is Living In Wonder. We can’t wait to see what you come up with! For more information on the pieces we’ll accept, you can visit our website. When you’re ready to submit, please send your submissions to litjournal.callapresspublishing@gmail.com.
It’s release month for Why I Dyed My Hair Purple!
’s book will release on January 21, but pre-orders are already open. You can pre-order your copy on our website, Amazon, or Barnes & Noble. It’s a must-read for anyone who isn’t sure how their creativity connects with their faith. Here’s some early praise from Jonathan Rogers, author and host of The Habit Membership for Writers, “With equal measures of honesty and good cheer, Kori Morgan tells the compelling story of how God wooed her through the arts.”- ’s YA novel, The Painted Fairytale, will be here soon! Pre-orders will open later this month, and the book will officially release on February 24. We’re so excited about Lara’s book and can’t wait for you to step into a world of adventure once it releases.
We love seeing Gina Gallagher’s sweet book, Reading with Remmy, out in the world. From launch events to school readings, there’s so much to celebrate with the release of Gina’s book. If you haven’t already purchased your copy, you can get one from our website. If you’re local to Lancaster, PA, you can also find a copy at the bookshop Nooks.
We’re excited to share Kiera and Kezia Knox’s The Children’s Book of Alphabet ABC Character Qualities that pairs charming illustrations with heartfelt lessons soon. There’s another special project in the works with Angela Knox that we can’t wait to share more about. Stay tuned for updates!
Of course, there are so many fun books in the works here:
Katie Sampias’ historical fiction book, Her Story of Jesus, will release in mid-2025, sharing stunning creative glimpses into the lives of the women who encountered Jesus.
Elise Tegegne’s thought-provoking nonfiction title, In Praise of Houseflies: Meditations on the Gifts in Everyday Quandaries, is nearing the end of the editing phase. This will be such a meaningful addition to your library.
Leilani Mueller’s heartwarming children’s chapter book, All Aboard the Grandparents Express, is chugging right along. We have the artwork, and Leilani has completed the hard and holy editing phase.
Lovers of poetry will enjoy Jordan Sleed’s book, Speaking of Broken Glass. Each poem thoughtfully communicates the relationship between work, worth, and God.
Historical fiction fans will appreciate Voice of the Ashes by T. R. Q. T. It’s an edge-of-your-seat story set in England that centers around one man’s faith and the question of whether or not he’s willing to lay it all on the line for his convictions.
We love celebrating our author’s work in the world. Here’s what a couple of them have been up to:
Hadassah Treu was featured on the Seek J.O.Y. Podcast. Listen to her episode here.
Here’s a glimpse of Gina’s lovely launch event at Nooks last month! She read her book to the children and enjoyed a sweet time of gathering and celebrating her release.
- ’s book, The Girl Whose Frown Shook the Ground, is a finalist in the fiction category for Good Book Mom’s Book of the Year Awards! Join us in congratulating her well-deserved recognition.
Thank you again for being here. You made 2024 a special year for all of us here at Calla Press Publishing. We’re wishing you many blessings and joys in the year ahead.
